Many companies get into trouble because they focus their attention only on the revenue side and not on the cost side. But this can be the difference between profit or not!

Before beginning your planning journey, it's critical to have a solid understanding of the 7 steps you must take to make it most successful. This lesson introduces the steps to you quickly and clearly.
This is a very quick introduction to the Playbook. Make sure you enable Macros when asked to do so when opening the tool.
This is where you start working through the Playbook. Rather than being required to figure out on your own all the areas that are working or not working, the tool methodically guides you through each area of your business and asks you simple questions that will lead to a clear and organized SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) Analysis
Define your Satisfaction and your Stretch goals across a number of areas of the business. Then pick the top 3 you will focus on.
As part of the iterative process we've discussed, this is where you start to narrow down the items on the SWOT to the ones that are most important.
Once you have whittled down your SWOT to a more manageable menu, you get to choose the Strategic Focus that will be the core of your strategic plan.
To fulfill on your Strategic Focus, you must narrow your activities to a small number of Strategic Priorities. Here we assign the items on the SWOT to the appropriate and specific Strategic Priorities, thereby making it very easy to determine the tactics that need to be deployed.
Too many people think planning is complete when they have set strategic targets. But that doesn't give you or your time enough guidance. Nor does it create sufficient accountability. So here you choose the specific tactics for each priority and select which quarter they will be implemented.
The Playbook will automatically generate your One Page Plan. Here, you will learn how to use this as a key tool for Cascading Communications with your team
To maximize effectiveness and accountability, you want to assign the tactics and tasks and have them properly scheduled. The Playbook populates the plan except for the scheduling. We discuss here how best to do this.
The title says it all. Your plan works if you work the plan. This is about getting one on the same page and being accountable for successful implementation. After all, it's only through action that you produce results.
This is NOT your typical business course.
This is one of a series of courses in the High Performance Entrepreneur series designed for business owners who are serious about growth, who are prepared to run their business like a business and who want to learn a repeatable way to stay focused on what matters most.
If you’re like most entrepreneurs, you see before you a ton of things that need to be fixed, looked after or pursued. You start on some of them, get pulled away by others and feel you rarely give any of them enough attention. You work hard, but you feel the results often don’t give you a fair reward for the effort you’re making.
That changes for you now.
The key to successful entrepreneurship is to most effectively deploy your time, money and resources to achieve a particular objective (or small set of objectives) at a time.
That means staying focused on what matters most.
There are two problems with this simple statement:
1) Deciding what matters most
2) Deciding what needs to be done about what matters most.
This course will show you how to tackle both of these problems. Because I’ve been working with entrepreneurs in one form or another since 1996, I understand how busy you are and how your time is often interrupted. So, I’ve kept each video short, focused, clear, direct and focused on what actually works.
Your business and your ability to lead it will begin to improve right away!
The course can be thought of as having 2 distinct sections.
In the first section, you will get a mini-MBA in how a business actually works. You’ll learn:
Ø The 3 buckets of activities that drive the long term value of your business
Ø The levers that you can pull to drive up this value within the buckets
Ø The foundations of profitability of all businesses, including yours
Ø Once you know which bucket you will play in at a time, how to influence the key numbers within them in a focused, targeted way
Ø The key numbers to track so you are able to accurately predict future profitability based on achieving activity targets
Ø To use a proprietary online forecasting tool to help you make informed choices about which tactics will produce the best results
In the second section, you’ll get access to a proprietary strategy development tool and a robust “menu” of hundreds of tactics that you can choose from as you develop your strategy. With these tools you will be guided to:
Ø Perform a highly detailed and informative analysis of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) facing your business which is important because that informs you of the potential areas of focus
Ø Articulate goals across a number of areas for your business
Ø Choose a Strategic Focus that will guide your decisions
Ø Select a small and focused set of Strategic Priorities to ensure you and your team remain committed to what matter most
Ø Allocate tactics to the right people at the right time so that you make clear and identifiable progress every quarter
Ø Create a system of accountability that maintains engagement and commitment among your team
